LSAT PT93, S2 Logical Reasoning, Q22, Because of the ubiquity of television in modern households …

Why is (B) the answer and not (A)?

A basically says: Every child who reads stories during free time will become a lifelong fan of literature.

That's a pretty extreme thing to say, much less require for the argument.

The crux of the argument is that only a few children will become lifelong fans of literature because the pool of children who read stories during their free time is small.

But what if there were other groups of children who can become lifelong fans of literature? What about children who watch TV at home but enjoy the stories they read with their teachers at school?

This would crumble the argument because the pool of children who could develop a lifelong interest in literature may be larger than the one the argument is basing its conclusion on.
